What a Supreme Mowing visit includes
Supreme Mowing provides lawn mowing for homes, rentals and businesses across the Hutt Valley. We have been mowing local lawns since 2011, we are fully insured and GST registered, and every visit covers the same four things:
- Mowing at a height that suits the grass and the season, not scalped to stretch the gap between visits.
- Edging along paths, driveways, kerbs and garden beds so the lawn has a clean line.
- Weedeating around fences, posts, trees, sheds and the bits the mower can't reach.
- Clippings taken away and the paths, deck and driveway blown off before we leave.
If something else needs doing while we're there — a hedge that's crept over the path, a bed that needs weeding — we can fold it into the visit or quote it separately. See garden maintenance and hedge trimming.
How often should a Hutt Valley lawn be mown?
Most of our regular customers are on a fortnightly cycle from spring through autumn and drop back to every three to four weeks over winter, when growth slows on the valley floor and the ground stays wet. Weekly visits make sense in October and November if you have a lush, well-fed lawn or a section that catches a lot of sun.
The Hutt Valley's mix of a mild, wet climate and sheltered valley floor means grass grows for more of the year than people expect. Letting a lawn go for six weeks in spring and then cutting it hard is what leaves lawns yellow and patchy; a shorter, regular cut keeps it green.
There's no lock-in. Tell us the schedule you want, change it when the season changes, and pause it if you're away.
One-off mows and overgrown lawns
We do one-off mows too: before a house goes on the market, between tenants, after a holiday, or when the lawn has simply got away on you. Long grass is cut in stages rather than in one pass so it recovers cleanly, and the extra volume of clippings is still taken away. If the section is badly overgrown or full of weeds and rubbish, a one-off garden cleanup is usually the better starting point — we'll tell you which.
What it costs
Lawn mowing is priced per lawn, not per hour, so you know the number before we start. It depends on the size of the lawn, how much edging and weedeating there is, the slope, access, and how often we're coming. Most straightforward lawns can be priced over the phone; for larger or awkward sections we'll pop round and look. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.
Where we mow
Everywhere in the Hutt Valley: the Lower Hutt flats, Petone and the western hills, over the hill in Wainuiomata, out to the Eastbourne bays, up Stokes Valley and right through Upper Hutt to Te Marua.
